AWARE provides counseling, advocacy and safe shelter for women and children
who are victims of domestic violence & sexual assault. AWARE's masters
level therapists specialize in counseling child victims of sexual abuse.
AWARE also offers a 24 hr crisis line; weekly support and education
groups for children & women; protective order assistance; legal,
medical, housing & social service referrals; parenting support,
transportation, safety planning and community education. Services are
confidential, respectful, and free of charge.

pregnancy care, delivery, and newborn care but also some things
you may not be aware of, such as information about and support for breast
feeding, and baby-parent time classes. To register, call the OB department

Southeast Alaska Family Evaluations Child Advocacy Center 463-6157
A safe place for children who are victims of any form of abuse. This
team of multi-disciplinary professionals intervene for the safety,
well-being, and healing of abused children. The S.A.F.E. team help
support children and non-offending adults share their story without
additional shame, fear or further victimization through the evaluation
process. The professionals who investigate child abuse and those who
provide treatment come together in one place to develop plans that
ensure successful prosecution and adequate treatment, despite the
client's ability to pay.

The Juneau Family Birth Center provides family-centered, prevention-based
prenatal, birth and postpartum care for southeast Alaskan families.
The center also offers a range of support and educational services for
families, including: parent education and support groups, a lending
library, community resource referrals, healthy pregnancy and prepared
childbirth classes, massage therapy, and a support/educational program
for pregnant and parenting teen families. All services are offered in
a supportive, home-like environment with three private birthing rooms,
Jacuzzi tubs, a family room complete with kitchen, a large classroom,
a prenatal clinic, and a complete lending library with resources related
to all aspects of pregnancy, nutrition, childbirth, parenting, and family
health.

provides scheduled, non-emergency respite services to Juneau families
on a limited basis. Respite services are provided after school and on
weekends. Activities for children are designed to promote healthy social

Love INC is a network
of 21 caring Christian churches, committed to helping Juneau individuals

OCS investigates
reports of harm to children and dependent adults, and provides adoption
and placement services, including licensing of foster homes and residential
care facilities. The mission of OCS is to protect children. They will
work with families to find solutions, and link families to other community

REACH:

Reach offers a full spectrum of services for people experiencing developmental
disabilities from birth throughout life. Services are individualized
and include care coordination, family support, residential support,
therapy services, advocacy, employment and the Infant Learning Program.
Reach also offers assistance accessing community supports training and
referrals.

Learning Program
Parents who are concerned about the health or development of their
child under three can call REACH for a variety of screenings and evaluations.
The Infant Learning Program also offers home and center based early
intervention services, therapy services (physical, occupational, and
speech/language therapy) and family support, training, and referrals.

SEARHC is a non-profit tribal health consortium of 18 Alaska Native communities that provides health and wellness services to Natives and their families. The SEARHC Ethel Lund Medical Center in Juneau is one of Alaska's largest walk-in health care centers and is nationally accredited by The Joint Commission.
Services provided on the Juneau campus include family medicine, pediatrics, prenatal clinic, specialty clinics, optometry, diagnostic imaging, laboratory, pharmacy, dental care, physical therapy, behavioral health and substance abuse treatment and prevention. SEARHC physicians have privileges at and admit patients to Bartlett Regional Hospital for inpatient care. Referrals also are made to Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital in Sitka and the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage for a variety of advanced medical services.
SEARHC also offers a variety of health promotion and wellness services, such as women's health (WISEWOMAN and Breast and Cervical Health Program), nutrition counseling, diabetes and prediabetes education and management, tobacco counseling, employee wellness, complementary medicine and other programs that range from traditional to cutting edge. SEARHC oversees the region's WIC (Women, Infants, Children) program, which is a state and national program that provides supplemental nutrition for low-income women, infants and children up to 5 years old who are at nutritional risk.
The SEARHC Ethel Lund Medical Center also manages the Front Street Clinic, a health care service for Juneau's homeless citizens located in Suite 202 of the Mercantile Building, 225 Front St., in downtown Juneau. Front Street Clinic offers medical services from a mid-level provider, a clinical case manager and limited dental services. The phone number is 463-4201.

Head Start is a comprehensive child development program that includes
the parents, families, and communities while emphasizing education,
health, nutrition, overcoming disabilities, social services, parent
involvement, and staff development. Priority is given to low-income,
